On your marks and get set for Ipswich Hospital physiotherapists

Photo of PhysiotherapistsA physio trio from Ipswich Hospital are ready, set and fit to go in the world's biggest half marathon this weekend.

Sue Voules, Helen Barnes and Vicky Crawford are among the tens of thousands of people taking part in the BUPA Great North Run on Sunday, October 5.

The colleagues have been in training for months ahead of the 13.1mile race, which starts in Newcastle and finishes in South Shields.

Superintendent physiotherapist Sue will be running in an Ipswich Town Football Club shirt. A devoted Ipswich Town fan, Sue is being sponsored to do the race - her first half marathon - in aid of the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.

Sue said: "Being an Ipswich Town fan, the charity was an easy choice for me. It's a great cause and I'm looking forward to the challenge."

The Great North Run celebrates its 28th anniversary this year and it is the third time physiotherapist Helen has done the race. This time she is raising money for East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH). She said: "Having done it twice before I know it's really good fun and I'm really looking forward to it."

Fellow physiotherapist Vicky has also competed in the run before. She said: "I wanted to do it again because I enjoyed it so much last time, and because it's the biggest half marathon there is."
