HR team short-listed for awards
Colleagues in Human Resources (HR) at the hospital are today on the short-list to win top industry awards.
The annual Suffolk Recruitment Awards recognise excellence in the recruitment industry locally - and the hospital is up for two gongs.
Business partner and recruitment team manager Sharon Austin has been short-listed to the top three in the Best Internal Recruiter category. And the HR team is a finalist for the Team of the Year category.
The nomination for Sharon, highly commended in last year’s awards, reads: “Customer care is a primary focus for Sharon, and this is reflected in the way she works. The Central Bank Services team has found that Sharon is approachable, and however busy she is, Sharon will always ensure that when an issue is raised, she listens to the facts, and seeks clarity on what the goal is and works with the team to find solutions.”
The HR team nomination reads: “The team has a ‘can do’ approach and is very focused on delivering the best for the managers and employees, to ensure that they can concentrate on providing high quality patient care.” The nomination also highlights how the recruitment process was streamlined to reduce the time from vacancy to appointment by 30 days.
The awards are open to any organisation with a recruitment team that has an office based in Suffolk or recruits in the county. There are 12 categories covering all areas of recruitment. Last year Jennifer Canham, deputy director of HR, won the award for Best HR Practice.
